3. The Miz Spoils John Cena’s Proposal
We all see the writing on the wall with this feud, right? For years, John Cena and Nikki Bella, for the most part, stayed away from each other when it came to their WWE programs. Sure, here and there people would make comments about the two being together and Nikki’s preferential treatment because of it but really, their relationship really hasn’t been on display. So suddenly, just about a month before they enter a feud together with The Miz and his wife, Maryse and will culminate in a mixed tag team match at Wrestlemania 33. Really? A mixed tag match? 6 years ago these guys were in the main event for the WWE title at Wrestlemania XXVII, now they’re doing this?
Well, there’s a simple reason for this matchup: Cena is going to propose to Nikki. The couple has been together for well over 4 years and Nikki makes constant remarks about wanting Cena to propose on Total Bellas. So much so that The Miz and Maryse did a wonderfully hilarious parody of the drama on the March 21st episode of Smackdown. This all leads down a very predictable path. Cena and Nikki prevail and “The Leader of Cenation” gets down on one knee and proposes in the middle of the ring. How cute.
But what if that’s not how it goes down. What if just when Nikki spills tears of joy and jubilation, The Miz, mortified about the loss, attacks Cena and ruins the whole thing. It makes sense on a lot of levels. For one, does Nikki really want to get proposed to in reality through a script? Doubtful. That’s something that will go down in private. Secondly, The Miz has been the best pure heel in the WWE for a while now. Pulling off something like this can only make him even more reviled.
So in total, 3 predictions. Cena and Nikki win. Cena proposes. Miz spoils the ball. How fun would that be?
