DJ Z vs Andrew Everett

Result: Everett def. DJ Z via pinfall

Zema and Everett are quick in the ring and the pace was established early.  Neither can take control early in the match with a standoff in the middle of the ring.  These two know each other well enough that both men find themselves in a high reversal match.  Andrew Everett looks to end the match from the top turnbuckle but DJ Z has it well scouted.  As DJ Z goes for the ZDT, Everett’s inside cradle gains him the victory.  After the match, Gregory Helms and Trevor Lee come out to continue their psychological advantage over Everett.  They tease that Everett may not get a chance at the X-Division Championship but give in and give him a shot next week.

It is always a smart idea for the opening match to involve the X-Division.  With the array of styles, it is a fantastic way to get fans tuned in from the beginning.  Everett has gotten more opportunities to shine now that he is on his own after the Helms Dynasty took him out.  The match next week between Trevor Lee and Andrew Everett should be another good one but will Andrew Everett get his retribution.
