3. Mike Rotunda/I.R.S.

Back in January Wrestlinginc.com reported that the WWE was considering Mike Rotunda for the Hall of Fame.  For whatever reason, that idea fell through.  So will 2018 be the year Rotunda?  I think so.  He’s got the credentials.  He’s a 5-time tag team champion and has wrestled in over 1,000 matches over the course of 2 stints with the company.  He’s currently employed with the WWE as a road agent and has been in that role since 2006.  All in all, he’s been employed by the WWE in some capacity for a combined 17 years.  Time to honor his accomplishments.

Rotunda first came to the WWF in 1984 as babyface tag team tandem with brother in law Barry Windham.  The duo, known as the U.S. Express would go on to win two tag team titles and compete at WrestleMania II.  Rotunda left for the NWA/WCW in 1986 and that’s where he blossomed into a singles wrestler, snatching up 3 Television Championships.  He came back to the WWF in 1991 repackaged as Irwin R. Schyster, a tax collector from Washington D.C.  On paper, the gimmick sounded ridiculous but Rotunda seemed so committed to the character that it actually worked.  He won 3 more tag titles with Ted Dibiasi as Money Inc. and even made the finals of the 1991 King Of The Ring.  His heel work as I.R.S. was outstanding and he frequently ended up in major programs with the likes of The Legion of Doom, The Steiner Brothers, Razor Ramon, and The Undertaker.

Unlike Demolition, Rotunda has a few very easy potential choices for who should induct him.  The aforementioned Barry Windham, a member of the 2012 class would work.  Dibiasi is also an option.  But how about Rotunda’s two sons, Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas?  How great would it be to watch “The Eater of Worlds” speak on behalf of his Dad in his entrance to the hall?  That, I’d pay money to see.
