The SmackDown Live Midcard Division
Highlights of the Division
Dean Ambrose and Baron Corbin were involved in a pre-taped TV split screen interview to hype up their current animosities and championship match at WrestleMania 33. It was boring and insulting to both competitors that they were involved in a segment like that. They weren’t even featured on SmackDown Live and the interview was shown on Talking Smack. How are the fans supposed to be invested in the title match if both competitors aren’t even at the last show before WrestleMania?
Baron Corbin is the favorite to win the Intercontinental Championship since he’s been positioned to be the biggest threat on SmackDown Live’s Midcard Division. His record this year alone hasn’t been favorable to his persona but Corbin needs to win to validate his spot as a future world title challenger. If he doesn’t win this Sunday, he’ll be swimming with the fishes in the midcard division.
The Miz was roasted by John Cena and was punked out for his comedic skits of Total Bellas. The Miz might talk a good game but he’ll be eating a loss at WrestleMania 33.
Luke Harper lost against the current WWE World Champion Bray Wyatt at the main event of SmackDown Live. He might have changed his look but not in the win column.
Mojo Rawley scored a huge win in the 10 man tag team match on SmackdDwn Live. He moves up one spot in the pretender’s list over the man who lost in the same match—Dolph Ziggler.
