With WrestleMania 33 almost here, Baron Corbin needs to leave the event as the new Intercontinental Champion.

We are nearing the biggest event of the year, WrestleMania. The card has shaped up to look rather deep, and one match that gas seemed to escape the attention of many is the Dean Ambrose vs. Baron Corbin bout for WWE Intercontinental Championship.

The two were both taken by SmackDown Live in the draft last July, as pieces that the brand could build around, and both have lived up to the billing. Ambrose was drafted first by Team Blue and brought over the WWE Championship with him.

The Lunatic Fringe has been a major star on SmackDown Live, battling with the likes of John Cena, AJ Styles and The Miz. On the first episode of the Blue Brand of 2017, Ambrose claimed the Intercontinental Championship from The Miz.

Corbin has become one of the bigger steals in the draft thus far. Taken towards the middle rounds of the draft, The Lone Wolf has risen through the ranks quickly on Tuesday Nights. After winning the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal last year at WrestleMania, Corbin looks to keep up his dominance at the show of shows.

The two began their feud back at the Elimination Chamber when Ambrose eliminated Corbin from the match. An angry Corbin then proceeded to attack Ambrose sending him two of the Chamber pods, damaging him enough that The Miz was able to eliminate him from the match.

The two have since attacked each other in the backstage using any type of weapon they can get their hands on. With the two set for a clash at WrestleMania, the two could be the ones who steal the show.

When looking on who should leave the match with the prestigious Intercontinental Championship it should really be Corbin. With his size and power, WWE should begin to look at developing him into a constant main event star.

Giving the former NXT star a reign as the Intercontinental Championship would finally give a new up and comer a chance to help elevate the belt and himself. The Lone Wolf has improved greatly in the ring and his microphone work has also gotten better.

Corbin is also one of the only heels who gets booed by all portions of the crowd and he knows how to come off as a villain. He could use the championship as a stepping stone to help elevate him into the WWE Championship picture.

His win would also give credit to Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, and what winning it can do to spark a career. The first two winners of the event (Cesaro and The Big Show) did little to nothing after they won it.

This quickly left the impression with fans that winning this, doesn’t do much for a career. However, If Corbin was to be able to win the Intercontinental Championship one full year later at WrestleMania, it would show that winning the Battle Royal can do a lot to spark a career.
