SmackDown Women’s Championship Match
Naomi (c) vs Alexa Bliss

Result: Naomi retains via submission

Rating: 4.0 out of 5 stars

Eager to cash-in her rematch clause, Alexa Bliss decided that tonight would be the occasion she chose to do so. Hoping to take advantage of Naomi’s recent injury, the challenger believed this gave her an edge. Pushing the champion to the limit throughout the contest, Bliss showcased why she’s led the SmackDown Live Women’s division as of late.

As for Naomi, she displayed for sheer toughness and drive to keep the title. She was fresh off the biggest win of her career at WrestleMania, and was unwilling to endure another short title reign. Battling through the pain, she stood toe to toe with Bliss and refused to allow her any ground. Providing a counter to every bit of offense the challenger delivered, it made the potential result able to go either way.

Towards the closing moments, these two women traded big move after big move. The DDT wasn’t enough for Bliss to gain the victory, and Naomi suffered similar disappointment with the Rear View. In the end, this was a match that was decided due to a submission. Dodging a moonsault attempt, Naomi would go on to lock in her Spider Twist submission for the win. Celebrating with her championship, Naomi stood tall as the dominant female here tonight.
