2. Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho would continue his habit of putting new stars over at WrestleMania 33 as well. The former best friends went to war at the show of shows. To add to the catch, the United States title was also on the line. In terms of build-up towards this match, it could be termed as one of the best in recent times. Creative had us waiting for months to see these two turn on each other.

Then finally when team Chris and Kevin imploded during the Festival of Friendship, it was brutal and surreal. The same could be said about their WrestleMania outing as well. Owens and Jericho share great chemistry and it was evident throughout the match. The spot where Y2J turned a pop-up powerbomb into a code breaker is the best example to showcase their chemistry. As always, the apron powerbomb was simply brutal.

When all the smoke settled, Owens would win the match without any assistance or tricks. He simply overpowered Jericho to win his first United States title. Fans couldn’t have been happier. As entertaining as Jericho was throughout this run, it had to end at some point. Hopefully, Owens can now look forward to restoring the prestige of the US title as well as getting himself back on track as Raw‘s top heel.
