The Undertaker retired at WrestleMania 33 after his loss against Roman Reigns, leaving his gloves, hat and coat in the ring as his farewell. Who can step up and take over as a big name?

It was a bittersweet ending to WrestleMania 33, with The Undertaker retiring after his match with Roman Reigns. Unfortunately, he needs a hip replacement and likely will not be able to wrestle after that happens. It was the right time for him to hang it up, and like the old school professional that he is, he took a loss and passed the torch. This may not have sat well with fans, but it was the right move even if Reigns wasn’t the guy many of us hoped would be his last match.

The Undertaker is the reason I ever got into wrestling, my first viewing of an event was his Survivor Series debut way back when I was 5 years old and since then he had me hooked. It was always an event to see him on a show, even if he was there often. That aura he brought with that character was unlike anything I had seen or experience and it has continued to be that way all these years later. There will never be anyone like him, but his loss from the business leaves a big gaping hole.

WWE does not need a carbon copy of The Undertaker to take his place, they need someone who can be a huge star, that the people are excited to see and is an event when they are on the card. Some current superstars have the potential to be that person in years to come, and others may already be there. The current crop in the rosters are some of the best the company has had at one time, it is an exciting time to be a fan.

Who could we see as taking that spot now or in the future? Let’s take a look …
