1. Marty Scurll

Checking in at number 1 is a guy who I truthfully believe is the best heel currently working the indie circuit.  Littleport, England’s Marty Scurll at just 28 and with 12 years already under his belt seems poised for huge things.

Scurll started off his career with the moniker of “Party Marty”, a fun-loving babyface.  But in September 2015, his demeanor changed.  Under the PROGRESS Wrestling banner, Scurll, after losing a match to Kris Travis, viciously attacked his foe thus presenting to the world, “The Villain”.  Since the turn, Scurll has won 6 world championships in 5 different promotions, took home the highly acclaimed Battle of Los Angeles trophy under the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla banner, and is the current Ring of Honor World Television champion.  Sometimes a change is all you need.

Scurll is one of the very best characters in the entire wrestling business and his recent success has turned him into a global sensation.  His in-ring ability is something that needs to be seen to believe, as he produces action-packed, ultra-violent battles that stretches his opponents into to waters that they’ve never seen before and most likely won’t again.  He proves night in and night out that he’s one of the elite as evidenced by his amazing clashes with AJ Styles, going so far as to have a match of the year candidate in 2015 with Styles and Will Ospreay.

“The Villain” needs no more fine tuning.  He’s exactly what the WWE should be looking for.  A polished heel with a never say die attitude that would fit nicely in to any role with the company.  He could be on NXT, 205 Live, or the main roster right now, that’s how versatile he is.  But when it’s all said and done, Scurll might be the best investment the WWE could ever make.
