The RAW Tag Team Division

Highlights of the Division

Matt Hardy and Sheamus kicked off RAW with a singles match in an appetizer for their tag title match at Payback this Sunday night. Sheamus lost the match due to a distraction by the scuffle between Jeff Hardy and Cesaro—which might lead to a heel turn for the European bruisers.

The Hardy Boys have been dominating both in singles competition and in the tag team department as well. For both men to walk out of Payback with the titles intact is a no-brainer since they are the most popular team in the WWE today. It’ll be difficult to envision a scenario where they lose the titles this Sunday but crazier things have happened in wrestling history.

Cesaro and Sheamus have had a decent run for a few months as a babyface tag team but the seeds have been planted for them to lay waste on the Hardy Boys. That sequence might happen after they lose the title match at Payback, which will force the duo to clench their fists than shaking hands to the defending champs. It’ll keep the story going between the two teams for another month.

Gallows and Anderson teamed up with Samoa Joe in a six-man tag team match against Big Cass, Seth Rollins and Finn Balor—and suffered another loss in the process. In the past month alone, the former members of the Club are 1-4 for the month of April but the can turn their fortunes around this Sunday. They’ll be facing Enzo and Big Cass in a Payback pre-show match to re-establish their standings in the division.

These are the rankings for the division this week.
