Should Neville overcome Austin Aries at WWE Payback, what will the future hold for the self-proclaimed “King of the Cruiserweights”?
This Sunday at WWE Payback, Neville gears up to defend his WWE Cruiserweight Championship against a very game opponent in Austin Aries – which will be the second time these two men square off this month with the title on the line.
Now make no mistake, Neville is by no means a lock to walk away with his role as “King of the Cruiserweights” intact, but his impact over the entire division since December has been so prevalent that it seems wrong to bet against the man.
Throw in the fact that Neville came out of his last clash with Aries as the victor – at WrestleMania no less – and Neville stands as the firm favorite to win this one too.
Assuming he loses, Aries will be another name on a growing list of those to come up short against Neville since his reign began – and in that time, a number of others have propped up who may stand a chance against “The Man That Gravity Forgot”.
Say what you will about 205 Live, but with programs like we’ve seen between Rich Swann and Noam Dar, Brian Kendrick and Tozawa, and Jack Gallagher and Ariya Daivari, the show does a good job of building its upcoming stars in the background.
