WWE Backlash 2017: Predicting the Full Match Card

WWE Championship Match
Randy Orton (c) vs Jinder Mahal

Another match that is already confirmed for the card is the WWE Championship match, between Jinder Mahal and Randy Orton. At WWE Payback, we saw Mahal and the Singh Brothers cost Orton his match against Bray Wyatt.

When Mahal pinned Sami Zayn to become the No. 1 Contender, it left us with more questions than answers. While the speculation is that Mahal is getting this push because WWE is trying to expand in India may be true, I don’t that that’s the sole reason for the push. So far, during his time in the top spot, he’s done really well for himself and has been presented as an actual threat to Orton’s title reign.

With the help of the Singh Brothers, I think there’s a realistic chance we see Mahal walk out as champion. We may not see Mahal becoming a dominant champion with a lengthy title reign, but potentially as a transitional champion for someone like AJ Styles to get the title off of him.
