WWE Rumors: Braun Strowman Injured, Will Miss 4-8 Weeks
Braun Strowman will be missing a chunk of time with a reported elbow injury.
Braun Strowman has been one of the top acts on Raw since WrestleMania 33. He’s been given the opportunity to run rampant throughout the Monday show, including defeating Roman Reigns at the WWE Payback pay-per-view. It came just four weeks after Reigns defeated the Undertaker at WrestleMania, so it added another accolade to Strowman’s profile.
Well, it seems WWE will be without one of its hottest acts for a while. According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Strowman will miss the next four to eight weeks of action. He will undergo a “minor procedure” on his elbow to “fix some issues.” It’s going to lead to WWE having to alter their plans for Extreme Rules and Great Balls of Fire — the next two Raw-exclusive pay-per-views before SummerSlam.
It’s unfortunate timing for Strowman, who seemed to be heading toward another match with Reigns — potentially at Extreme Rules. That could have been the main event of the show since these two just headlined Payback, so things will obviously look different.
We had noted a rumor from the Wrestling Observer about Strowman being in the Universal Championship picture at Great Balls of Fire. That show is two months away, which fits the Monster Among Men’s injury timetable. However, will that be too soon to bring him back?
As for Reigns, it may mean he jumps into another feud. Who that’s with will be interesting to follow, as top names like Dean Ambrose, the Miz, Finn Balor and Bray Wyatt are all involved with each other. The same goes for Samoa Joe and Seth Rollins. Will WWE find a way to put Reigns in the middle of one of those programs?
