Alexa Bliss (w/ Nia Jax) vs. Mickie James (w/ Bayley)

Result: Alexa Bliss defeated Mickie James via pinfall

Rating:

Before the break, we saw Nia Jax throwing in with Bliss, even if Alexa didn’t seem to ask for or want the help. Well, apparently Mickie James has a television in her locker room, because she brought backup of her own – Alexa’s main rival and presumed challenger, Bayley.

Overall, the match wasn’t bad, but it played out way too predictable. Honestly, the only thing that one would have expected here that didn’t happen was Bliss losing a non-title match. Otherwise, we got the distraction from Chekhov’s Backup – from both sides. We got the heel taking advantage of the distraction to pick up a cheap win. And we got the heel (almost) getting some comeuppance for the cheating, as Bayley chased Alexa backstage.

A program between Nia Jax and Mickie James could be very interesting. Mickie hasn’t really done anything crazy outstanding since returning to WWE proper (her match with Asuka in NXT last November was pretty good, though). Putting Nia in the ring with a true veteran could do a lot to help develop the young superstar’s ability and confidence. I like it.

Trouble in Co-GM Land

Ambrose and Miz can’t get along? WELL, COLOR ME SHOCKED.

Nice to see Ambrose doing his homework at the last minute and booking the show while it’s on the air. Usually, we don’t actually see the work, we just get the impression. But confirmation that this stuff is made up on the fly is much appreciated.
