Aleister Black vs. Cezar Bonani
Result: Black def. Bonani via pinfall
Rating 1.5 out of 5 stars
This one was all about Aleister Black as Bonani didn’t even get a televised entrance. Black had an incredibly eery entrance that made him appear as if he was rising from the dead to compete in this match up.
The match ended up being all Aleister Black as the jobber hardly got a couple strikes in. The squash lasted about 2 minutes, but Black got to show off his athleticism and hard strikes. He put away Bonani with a brutal Black Mass, and Black calmly accepted his victory.
There really isn’t much to say about a match that only lasts 2 minutes. It did its job of building Black’s character and credibility in the ring as he rises up the ranks in NXT. We can only imagine that his push will continue in the coming weeks.
Women’s Battle Royal Look Back
The video showed Asuka’s aggression and dominance on full display as she took out Moon, Cross, and Riot to force a no contest in the battle royal.
Another video then showed an infuriated William Regal that Asuka will defend her championship against all three women at NXT TakeOver: Chicago.
However, another video took a look at Ember moon in the trainer’s office where we found out she has a grade 1 shoulder sprain and will be out for 4-5 weeks. When asked about an update on her injury, Ember Moon looked disappointed and verified that she won’t be at TakeOver but plans to be better than ever once she comes back.
It was then announced that the NXT Women’s Championship will officially be a triple threat match between Asuka, Nikki Cross, and Ruby Riot.
Pete Dunne Vignette
It is announced during the episode that Tyler Bate will defend his United Kingdom Championship against Pete Dunne at NXT TakeOver: Chicago, and a Pete Dunne vignette follows the announcement.
The video package mainly highlights Dunne’s cruel actions in the United Kingdom Tournament and how he, The Bruiserweight, simply enjoys beating people off. The video package manages to make Pete Dunne come off as cocky, arrogant, and a true force to be reckoned with.
