The RAW Women’s Division

Highlights of the Division

The key match of the division on RAW was between the newly minted Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss and her former tag team partner Mickie James. This was a bout that needed to happen right away as soon as the Superstar Shake-up concluded earlier last month. Mickie defeated Bliss last time they fought on Smackdown Live and it was fitting that the champ should even the score.

Alexa may have come away with the much-needed victory in her first singles match since winning the title but it’s to also legitimize her title reign. She has to come off as a champion who will fend off all challengers no matter what the cost. That storyline can come in handy in her new partnership with Nia Jax.

Nia Jax is in a prime position to challenge the winner of the title match between Alexa Bliss and Bayley. It’ll be interesting to see if Bliss or Jax manipulate each other to get what they want in the very end. There could be a scenario where Nia does become a babyface if Bliss doesn’t give her a title opportunity which is an avenue that hasn’t been explored.

But at the moment, Jax may have her hands full with Mickie James after the beatdown she delivered on RAW. Mickie will be used to prop up the contenders of the division as the WWE most likely won’t be pushing her to the top of the division anytime soon.

These are the rankings for the division this week.
