Samoa Joe

Samoa Joe is still fairly new to WWE’s main roster. Having only debuted in February, Joe has made a mark in his short time. This includes injuring Seth Rollins’ knee in his debut, something that only made the Samoan Submission Machine look even more dangerous, despite it being a real ailment.

Since then, Joe did get a WrestleMania 33 match, but has kept his feud with Rollins going. This will continue into Extreme Rules, where the former NXT Champion gets his first opportunity at getting into the WWE Universal Championship picture.

The main event scene is also a fresh one for Joe, who hasn’t been part of a PPV headliner yet, if we’re not counting NXT TakeOver. It’s his chance to show what should make him into one of Raw’s top heels, especially with Strowman out of the picture.

However, this doesn’t seem like Joe’s time to get into the Universal Championship scene. He doesn’t have the momentum behind him to get this, including losing at Payback and not exactly being red-hot since. There’s an opportunity to salvage this, but with so many Superstars in the title picture, we may not see this happen until the summer.

Joe will see a title opportunity at some point, but Great Balls of Fire seems early. Maybe at a future Raw-exclusive show, just not as soon as July. It doesn’t help that he brawled with Rollins to close Monday’s program, either.

Odds of winning: Slim to none
