Eric Young vs. Roderick Strong

Last Wednesday on NXT, Roderick Strong went one on one with Hideo Itami to determine who would face Bobby Roode at this event. A good back and forth NXT main event saw Itami hitting Strong with the GTS to pick up the win. After a show of respect and Itami leaving the ring, Strong was ambushed by SAnitY. The former ROH star then told General Manager, William Regal that he wanted SAnitY at NXT TakeOver: Chicago, which Eric Young accepted.

So, that’s how we got to this match. Roderick Strong has been on a run of really good matches and I expect no different when he steps in the ring with the veteran leader of SAnitY, Eric Young. Obviously, the “Who is Roderick Strong ?” series of video packages made it seem like he was going to next in line for a title opportunity. While SAnitY as a team is undefeated, it’s difficult to see NXT wasting good, quality video packages for Strong to lose.
