Ladder Match for the NXT Tag Team Championship
The Authors of Pain (c) vs. #DIY

For the first time ever the NXT Tag Team Championship will be defended in a Ladder Match. In what, perhaps, is the final time we see this matchup #DIY finally get their one on one championship rematch against the Authors of Pain. The match was made official on last week’s episode of NXT by General Manager William Regal.

The first two-on-two match between these teams took place at NXT TakeOver: San Antonio, in what was a really good match. Then champions, DIY looked to have AOP in trouble but Paul Ellering’s duo remained undefeated and captured the titles for the first time. These two teams crossed paths again at NXT TakeOver: Orlando, this time joined by The Revival in a Triple Threat Elimination Match that was also won by AOP. Now, these two teams are finally going to face each other again. Pro Wrestling Sheet reported a story that singer, Hope Vista sent out a tweet saying that recording a new theme for Johnny Gargano. It’s possible she simply forgot about Tommaso Ciampa being his tag team partner but could this be a sign that #DIY may be splitting up?
