Trent Seven Interview

We get an interview from Seven, who hurt his arm during Night One of the WWE UK Special. Wolfgang yanking him down with the arm was shown.

Pete Dunne, who is about to face Seven, interrupted the interview and slammed his opponent into the hallway wall. One member of Mustache Mountain slammed into it arm-first, which will only affect what’s seen shortly.

No. 1 Contenders Match for the WWE United Kingdom Championship
Trent Seven vs. Pete Dunne

Result: Pete Dunne defeated Trent Seven via pinfall to become the No. 1 Contender to the WWE United Kingdom Championship.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

The star of the WWE UK Championship may seem like it’s Bate, who’s looked terrific in every match since the beginning of January’s tournament. However, Dunne has looked like a bonafide superstar. His style meshes perfectly with what WWE fans look for, with an established character, a hard-nosed personality that doesn’t give two darns and can wrestle with the best. If WWE didn’t need the Bruiserweight for the weekly show on the streaming service, he’d belong on the main roster.

Seven can’t be ignored either. He’s one of the best grapplers in WWE’s crop of UK stars. They haven’t given him a chance to go past the No. 1 contender status, but that should change at some point.

By the way, what a world we live in, right? Dunne came to the ring with the PROGRESS World Championship on a WWE show.

The arm was the focus of Dunne’s throughout the first five minutes of the match. He had a vicious double-stomp on Seven’s injured body part.

Seven finally garnered some offense with a dive through the ropes, but quickly got taken back down in the ring. He struggled to muster offense for the majority of this, until he hit a vicious dragon suplex on the apron:

Seven went for another dragon suplex from the turnbuckle, but Dunne landed on his feet. Somehow, the 35-year-old managed a powerful lariat for a near-fall.

After 20 minutes, Dunne hit the Bitter End for the win, earning himself the No. 1 Contendership. What a quarter of an hour this was, however, even with Seven working with one arm. It made for phenomenal in-ring psychology, with Dunne even struggling to get past Seven not being 100 percent.

The Birmingham, England standout continued to show he’s a superstar. He meshed the psychology with Seven well, as they connected for incredible chemistry to put on a great showing. It only pushed Dunne further, though, who I’d make the favorite for Saturday night.
