WWE Money in the Bank 2017: Match Card Predictions After Backlash
Jinder Mahal is the new WWE Champion but, what will his situation look like at Money in the Bank?
The Money in the Bank Ladder match is one of the most anticipated matches of the year when it comes to WWE. For those that don’t know, a briefcase with a contract for a WWE Championship match hangs above the ring. The winner of this match can “cash in” his championship opportunity at anytime he wants. Because of the surprise factor cashing in has worked all but twice since the match was introduced at WrestleMania 21. Believe it or not, the first failed cash in was by John Cena and the second came when Damien Sandow lost his cash in against John Cena.
The list of previous winners include names like Edge, who won the first ever Money in the Bank. CM Punk was a two-time Money in the Bank winner. The “heist of the century” at WrestleMania 31 could not have happened without Seth Rollins winning the match in 2014. And just last year every member held the WWE World Heavyweight Championship within a five-minute time frame when Dean Ambrose cashed in the same night he won the briefcase just moments after Rollins pinned Roman Reigns to win the title.
With a new champion basically guaranteed more often than not, Money in the Bank has become the unofficial fifth member of “the Big 4”. The event as a whole may become a little less exciting now that it is only a SmackDown Live-exclusive interview but regardless here is how I see MITB going down.
