The MiTB Entrants Are Revealed

At the top of the hour, SmackDown Live begins with a series of stills highlighting the WWE Championship match at Backlash. Once that concludes, the Singh Brothers are shown in the parking preparing a mat for Jinder Mahal to step on. Exiting his limousine, the new WWE Champion emits a smile as the cameras pan to the arena.

Our first live entrance of the night features Shane McMahon coming down to the ring. It turns out the reason for his appearance is to announce the participants for the Money in the Bank ladder match. He brings out the first four entrants for the contest; AJ Styles, Baron Corbin, Dolph Ziggler, and Sami Zayn.

Kevin Owens decided to make his entrance as well, but it turns out that he isn’t going to be added to the match. Instead, Shane announces Shinsuke Nakamura as the fifth entrant, and the King of Strong Style arrives to the ring. Because of this, Owens questions why he’s not selected to be featured in the contest. Since he won his match at Backlash, he feels as though he deserves the opportunity.

Convinced, Shane decides to add the Prizefighter to the match. This announcement leads to Corbin taking a mic and speaking his mind. He trades words with Owens and Styles, and then shifts his attention to Zayn. The Underdog from the Underground reminds Corbin of his loss on Sunday, and so the two tease another encounter. Before they come to blows though, Ziggler begins to speak. His speech doesn’t last long, as Nakamura quickly takes over and hypes up himself.

To conclude the segment, Shane books Corbin versus Zayn and a tag match featuring Nakamura and Styles against Owens and Ziggler.
