What rivalries could continue past this Sunday’s WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view and into July 9’s WWE Great Balls of Fire?

Although fans are starting to grow curious about July’s strangely-titled “WWE Great Balls of Fire” pay-per-view and all that comes with it, there is still a lot of ground to cover before we see what the Raw brand will have in store for us that night.

This Sunday, for example, WWE hosts its so-called “most extreme night of the year” in its ninth annual Extreme Rules event. Though not a whole lot on the card really promises big spots – which will hopefully give them the chance to exceed our expectations – we are likely going to witness the culmination of a few rivalries.

The fatal five-way main event between Roman Reigns, Finn Bálor, Seth Rollins, Samoa Joe and Bray Wyatt will obviously be one-and-done, with the winner splitting off to face Brock Lesnar – potentially at the aforementioned Great Balls of Fire.

Another story fans will sincerely hope is put to bed is Alexa Bliss’ Raw Women’s Championship rivalry with Bayley, which as of this week’s “this is your life” segment on Monday Night Raw might officially be the worst feud in all of WWE this year.

With some luck, Bliss will nip any chances of Bayley reclaiming the title in the bud so we don’t have to see anymore interaction between the two for a while.

That all being said, there are a number of active feuds heading into Sunday that could actually be strengthened given a little more time to stew.

With about a month between them, some work will need to be done in order to extend these rivalries to the next pay-per-view, but with the right amount of attention, the following three matches could benefit from continuing.
