The idea of an all Extreme Rules style pay per view in the WWE began in 2005 when, as a part of the One Night Stand pay per view held at the ECW Arena, the entire show featured gimmick matches.  2 years later, the One Night Stand show came with the caveat “Extreme Rules”.  And 2 years after that in 2009, the show was officially changed to just that name.  And it’s a good thing it did.  Since it’s inception, the annual show has churned out some classic cards, 2008 and 2012 stand out the most and has produced some of the craziest, most innovative matches of all time.

This year, the show will be brought to its fans as part of RAW brand and as of this writing, features 6 matches.  When it’s all said and done, could any of these 6 matches crack the list of best matches in the history of Extreme Rules?  Well, the main event certainly has a chance.  It’ll be the first ever Fatal 5-Way Extreme Rules match in WWE history and with this list of competitors, it should be an all time classic.
