1. The Miz vs Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens vs Cesaro – Extreme Rules 2016
So yes, I’m biased. And considering these are 3 of my favorite wrestlers currently on the roster, this was a no-brainer for me. But it’s not just because I love these guys. Their fatal 4-way match from the Extreme Rules 2016 show is quite possibly the best match of it’s kind of all-time. Simply put, this match was flawless. It was paced beautifully, had wall to wall action, and the finishing sequence where it seemed like every guy was going to win until The Miz used his heel brilliance to get the victory, was just breathtaking.
Every guy played his role perfectly in this match. Cesaro played the part of the powerhouse trying to use his brute strength to carry him to victory. Owens was his usual half vicious/half devious self. Zayn dazzled with his amazing underdog mentality and never say die attitude. And Miz, seriously, the guy is just a genius. He’s gone from a sniveling, reality-show punk to a certified, grade-A villain. He really is one of the most complete workers in the business today.

Later on in this show, AJ Styles and Roman Reigns went to battle in an amazing title match which made number 9 on this list. But make no mistake, this was the show-stealer. And anytime guys can put on a match this good for a secondary title, it raises the prestige of that belt in a major way. It went just 18 minutes but honestly, they could’ve gone 60 and nobody would’ve complained. The match was so good that time just flew out the window and left the crowd and WWE fans alike thirsting for more.
