Apollo Crews vs. Kalisto

Result: Kalisto defeats Apollo Crews via pinfall.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

This match was only announced on Sunday afternoon, and is for an undercard feud that has been developing on Raw. It has Apollo Crews aligning with Titus O’Neil, joining the Titus Brand and heading in a different direction. Kalisto defeated Crews but got pinned by O’Neil, so a rematch with the former was created.

Crews showed off some of his wild athleticism here, looking like the star of the match for its first five minutes. He got more reactions for that than anything else he’s done in who knows how long.

Kalisto shined in the early portions of the match, too, getting to do things he’s likely been held back on. The guy can fly around with the best of them, but has been somewhat grounded in the slower WWE style.

Crews and Kalisto continued tearing the house down for the Kickoff Show, with O’Neil even playing his part as the distracting manager. However, he distracted his own man and allowed Kalisto to hit Salida Del Sol for the win.

This match could be the second-best of the evening, by the time Extreme Rules goes off the air. The athleticism on display was elite and something that may be difficult to top tonight.

It’s not a silly question to ask, if the Titus Brand is going to expand? This will never be a stable to be taken seriously, but it can work on a lower level.
