5. Shinsuke Nakamura

This might be a slightly controversial opinion, but this is not the time for Shinsuke Nakamura to win the Money in the Bank briefcase.

Nakamura is a star, but he is a babyface. Babyfaces don’t usually mix well with the briefcase. The cash-in gets a face reaction, but if it’s going to be carried around for months, it works better on a heel. With that, it is just too big a risk for them to take on him, considering that he is already 37 years old and they may not get a chance to fix his image if they mess it up.

Considering his age, they should not hesitate to make him champion when the opportunity arises, but it should be done in a much more natural way to make the crowd pop and get behind him in a babyface role.

He could be an interesting candidate next year if he’s not champion at the time, as his entrance could provide an intense moment with a probe champion. It’s just too big a risk this year.
