Heath Slater & Rhyno vs. Cesaro & Sheamus

Result: Cesaro & Sheamus defeated Heath Slater via pinfall

Rating: 2.0 out of 5 stars

Hey, Heath Slater and Rhyno finally made it onto Raw! It’s a Festivus miracle!

Sadly for them, they show up just in time for a nontitle match against the new Raw Tag Team Champions. Poor Rhyno never made it into the ring. Maybe at some point, the tag team division can expand beyond four teams who always fight each other. The return of The Revival should help, but there needs to be a better utilization of the entire division.

As short as the match was, though, there was plenty of quality teamwork from the champs. Cesaro causing distractions off the bat, blind tags, preventing tags – it was like an abbreviated master class in tag team wrestling.

After the match, we get an awkward promo from the champions. Apparently, talent in the ring doesn’t translate to more confidence on the mic, because things are still pretty stilted, especially from Cesaro. A few digs at the Hardy Boyz makes me think that this feud is far from over.

The King and His Squire Backstage

TJP wants a title match still, because he’s so busy dabbing and accessorizing that he hasn’t realized he just needs to ask Kurt Angle. Neville claims to be a just and fair king, and says he’ll grant TJP a championship opportunity if he beats Mustafa Ali.
