The Commissioner is Here

At the top of the hour, SmackDown Live begins with Shane McMahon making his way to the ring. Inside of the squared circle sits a podium, which is no doubt going to be used for this segment. The current female entrants for the first Money in the Bank ladder match are already awaiting him. For those of you that don’t know, the superstars are Becky Lynch, Carmella, Charlotte Flair, Natalya, and Tamina Snuka.

To start the segment, Shane introduces each of the women inside the ring before revealing the briefcase. This time the briefcase is white rather than the traditional gold or black. He goes on to talk about the match for a bit, but James Ellsworth decides to interrupt him. Declaring that we already know what is going to happen at Money in the Bank, he turns things over to Carmella. From here, each woman interrupts the other until Naomi appears.

Before the champion can utter a word, Lana makes her debut on the Blue Brand. Reminding fans that Naomi cannot enter the match, she reveals her interest in joining the fray. Naomi dismisses the idea immediately, while Shane says that Lana needs to earn such an opportunity. Angered by the rejection, Lana leaves the scene as fans voice their disappointment at Shane’s decision.

Having had enough of the segment, Shane has the referee enter the ring for the previously announced six-women tag team match. Even though this wasn’t the greatest way to introduce the upcoming ladder match, it was nice to finally see Lana on the Blue Brand. Here’s hoping she receives a chance to shine in the near future.
