Jinder Mahal vs Mojo Rawley

Result: Jinder Mahal wins via pinfall

Rating: 4.0 out of 5 stars

For those who have missed John Cena, WWE has officially confirmed the time and location of his return, which is going to be the July 4th edition of SmackDown Live. Now, let’s turn our focus to the third match of the night.

With a spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match on the line, Mojo Rawley entered this next match ready for a fight. As for Jinder Mahal, the current WWE Champion looked to continue his recent hot streak on SmackDown Live. Flanked by the Singh Brothers, the champion knew that the advantage was his from the get-go.

Despite the odds being stacked against him, Mojo didn’t allow that to distract him from the task at hand. At the beginning of the match, the two superstars locked-up in the center of the ring. Taking the fight to Mahal, Mojo acquires the advantage early and causes the champion to retreat to the outside. Composing himself, Mahal runs back into the ring only to return for another breather moments later.

Thanks to a timely distraction by one of the Singh Brothers, Mahal is able to gain a foothold in the contest. Slowing down the pace of the match, he maintained control until Mojo gained his second wind. A comeback attempt followed suit, but an eye rake took the fight out of Mojo. Sensing opportunity, Mahal hit the Khallas for the victory.

Post-match, the WWE Champion talked about how he intends to once again defeat Randy Orton. At Money in the Bank, he’s looking forward to humiliating the Viper in his hometown. Mahal speaks in his native Punjabi to end the segment.
