13. CM Punk (on Edge)

CM Punk’s cash in on Edge certainly was an odd one. With the Money in the Bank briefcase, you had the bad guys that took advantage of beaten down champions to win the gold, or you had good guys that wanted to schedule a fair fight with the champion.

CM Punk was the first to stray away from this pattern. He was a face at the time who took advantage of a battered Edge.

Edge came on RAW to gloat about being champion when Batista came out to shut him up. This involved a full fledged beat down by The Animal to the Rated-R Superstar.

After the dust had settled, CM Punk came out with the briefcase and a referee and cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Edge.

Once the match started, Punk hit Edge with the GTS and pinned him for the win. Punk ended up walking out with his first world championship in the WWE (aside from the ECW Championship).

It was an exciting moment for Punk, but it made him look like an opportunistic heel rather than a likable babyface. Perhaps Punk will be making another appearance later on in this list with a more suitable cash into his character…
