The Iconic Duo Recap

The video from a few weeks ago is shown of Peyton Royce and Billie Kay in the Performance Center, being interrupted by Ember Moon. Moon vs. Royce will take place on next Wednesday’s episode.

Aleister Black Vignette

A vignette is played for Black, who hasn’t competed on NXT TV since May 24.

The Authors of Pain vs. Anthony Dominguez and Wilmer Freyday

Result: The Authors of Pain (well, Akam) defeated Anthony Dominguez and Wilmer Freyday via pinfall.

A simple tune-up match for The Authors of Pain here. However, Akam was left in the ring on his own, while Rezar spoke with Paul Ellering at ringside.

As expected, Akam destroyed these two enhancement talents in about 90 seconds. Easy.

After the match, AOP hit a Super Collider on these two wrestlers. Ellering then addressed Tucker Knight and Otiz Dozovic, and played up how Akam and Rezar are undefeated.

Ellering name-dropped TM-61. Remember them? Shane Thorne has missed most of 2017 with a significant injury. Prior to this, he and Nick Miller had trouble gaining traction, so whenever they get back, we’ll see if anything has changed.

Heavy Machinery then came down to have an intense staredown with The Author’s. Ellering told his guys to retreat.

The super-quick push of Heavy Machinery is interesting and warranted. It’s a bit soon, as they’ve hardly beaten anyone of significance. However, the NXT Tag Team Division is dry, with the exception of your previously-mentioned NXT Tag Team Champions. This forces Knight and Dozovic into the picture, even if they may not be ready for the spotlight.
