The RAW Tag Team Division

Highlights of the Division

The main event of RAW featuring Sheamus and Cesaro versus the Hardy Boys didn’t end the feud as we hoped. Their matches have been stellar but the problem is that it lacks any story behind it. The fans cheer the Hardys based on nostalgia and boo the champs because they are stale characters. This rivalry might end on Great Balls of Fire and the current champs do need to retain the titles.

This would allow the Hardys to start slowly introducing their “Broken” gimmicks to the WWE Universe. My theory is that they already have with the sneak attacks of Enzo and Big Cass. It seems too obvious for the Big Show or the Revival to be the culprits of this angle. Nor does it seem like Enzo and Big Cass would attack each other out of revenge. The spotlight on this angle is too big for a tag team break-up for a under-achieving tag team. Look at the Golden Truth break-up angle and see if that’s going anywhere worthwhile.

The tag team division does need a bit more drama to remain relevant on RAW and this storyline is the missing spark. Teams like Gallows and Anderson would benefit from it if they pick up easy victories from the beatdowns that Enzo and Big Cass receives every week. If the Hardys are behind the attacks, this division will be the major focus of WWE’s flagship show for months.

These are the rankings for the division this week.
