WWE Championship Match
Jinder Mahal (c) vs. Randy Orton

Thanks to the Singh Brothers, Jinder Mahal shocked the wrestling world at Backlash when he defeated Randy Orton to become WWE Champion. Now, he has to prove it was no fluke as the Viper gets his rematch at Money in the Bank – in his hometown of St. Louis.

The most likely outcome of this match is Jinder retaining the title. Here at Daily DDT, we’ve already gone over the reasons Jinder should remain champion for the long haul. But saying he should is different from saying he will. So I’ll say it: Jinder Mahal will retain the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank.

Orton is without a doubt a WWE legend – even as he still has a lot of career left in front of him. But right now, it’s all about Mahal. The Maharaja is in the middle of redefining himself as a bonafide WWE superstar. There are no signs of that slowing down right now, so putting an end to the Orton feud allows Mahal to expand even further.

But how is Jinder going to get another victory over Orton? The first time, he had some help from the Singh Brothers. It’s incredibly likely they’ll play a role in the finish of this one, too. A well-timed distraction from Samir and Sunil would be all Jinder needs to extend his unlikely reign as WWE’s premier champion.
