1. The Miz

The No. 1 spot on this list belongs to none other than the seven-time and current Most Must-See Intercontinental Champion of the 2010’s: The Miz.

The Miz is a true underdog story. He was a guy that came from reality TV and had no respect from fans or fellow wrestlers, yet he went on to hold multiple singles and tag team championships and even main evented WrestleMania.

Despite The Miz’s run as WWE’s top guy, his most impressive work has been with the Intercontinental title that he held seven times for a total of over 370 days and counting.

His first reign came in 2012 when he defeated Christian on the 1000th episode of RAW for the Intercontinental Championship. He defended the title against credible Superstars like Christian, Rey Mysterio, and Cody Rhodes until losing it to Kofi Kingston.

His second reign lasted only 1 day when he defeated Wade Barrett at the WrestleMania kick off show but lost it back to him the next night on RAW. This was during The Miz’s poorly received face turn.

Luckily, The Miz was back to being a heel for his next run as Intercontinental Champion. He won a battle royal to win the vacated championship and embarked on his rivalry with Dolph Ziggler. Miz then lost the title to Ziggler, regained it from him, and then lost it to Ziggler once again.

The Miz’s most impressive run came in 2016 where he defeated Zack Ryder for the title the night after WrestleMania and reintroduced his wife, Maryse, to WWE as his escort.

The Miz lifted the Intercontinental Championship to another level with his matches against Owens, Cesaro, and Sami Zayn, his epic promos on Talking Smack, his blurring of the lines of reality and fiction with Daniel Bryan and his great rivalry with Ziggler.

When he lost the belt to Ziggler in a career vs. title match, The Miz went out and won the Intercontinental Championship a month later. He went on to retain against Ziggler, Sami Zayn, Kalisto, and Crews until Dean Ambrose eventually took the title from The Miz.

Both The Miz and Dean Ambrose would be moved over to RAW where they would rekindle their rivalry over the belt. The Miz defeated Ambrose at Extreme Rules and is now the current Intercontinental Champion.

The Miz, time and time again, would bring prestige to the Intercontinental Champion so much that it seemed as though his name was always called to win the title when the title and midcard was suffering.

After The Miz’s run atop the company, his runs as Intercontinental Champion revived his career and has made him truly The Most Must-See Intercontinental Champion.
