11. Christian

Christian, Captain Charisma, would be a surefire Hall of Famer if it weren’t for the countless injuries he sustained throughout his career. Regardless, he had an accomplished tag team and singles run in the company and was able to win tag team titles, world titles, and the Intercontinental Championship four times.

However, only one of his reigns as Intercontinental Champion came in the 2010’s. After coming back from injury, as a heel, he won a match to face either Santino Marella or Cody Rhodes for their respective secondary titles.

By changing his mind from Santino’s U.S. Championship to Rhodes’ Intercontinental Championship, Christian was able to turn face in the process. He ended up defeating Rhodes for the belt at Over the Limit to become the new Intercontinental Champion.

After defending the belt against Rhodes at the following PPV, Christian eventually lost his belt to The Miz on the 1000th episode of RAW.

This reign with the belt was nothing more than a nostalgia run for Captain Charisma. He played off of Edge’s recent Hall of Fame induction and reminded the fans that his time in the ring could be up at any moment, as well.

Christian, being a respected veteran of the business, being best friends with the recently returned Edge, and putting the title on the line on such a special episode of RAW  made the Intercontinental Championship something that some people were actually talking about.

Sure, it was a short and uninspiring run as champ, but at least we got to see Christian hold a title again before he said farewell to the WWE Universe.
