The Hype Bros vs The Usos

Result: The Usos win via pinfall

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars

In our first match of the evening, the Hype Bros competed against the SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions; The Usos. As an added bonus, this contest marked the in-ring return of Zack Ryder. Showing no signs of wear and tear, Ryder took it to the tag champions early, as did Mojo Rawley. Unfortunately, a kick to the face halted Ryder’s momentum and allowed the Usos to take control.

Inflicting damage on the Long Island Iced-Z, the Usos kept a slow pace and refused to allow a hot tag. This strategy didn’t last long though, as Rawley eventually entered the match and cleaned house. Keeping the champions at bay, he tagged in Ryder once again and the duo tried to end the contest. A superkick took down Rawley, but his partner was able to fight on his own…at least for a time.

Dodging the Broski Boot in the corner, the Usos rebounded and delivered their patented Uso Splash for the victory. Because of this, the Hype Bros are now going to be unable to contend for the gold. Knowing this, The Usos wanted to celebrate what was a hard-fought victory. As they did so, the New Day came down to interrupt the gloating. Declaring their intentions to challenge the champions yet again at Battleground, the trio stared down the champions.

Confident as ever, The Usos appeared indifferent by the announcement, but soon be became humiliated when the New Day turned to humor. Things could’ve escalated to a fight, however, the champions decided to save the physicality for a later day.
