Follow along with our review of Wednesday night’s episode of WWE NXT.

On Wednesday night, the latest episode of WWE NXT took place from Full Sail University. It had an advertised NXT Championship match, which saw Bobby Roode defend against Roderick Strong. Who walked out a winner?

Hideo Itami and Kassius Ohno worked in a tag team match. They faced SAnitY’s Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe. Which duo gained momentum in the NXT Tag Team Division?

Plenty more happened in this episode of WWE NXT. Let’s take a look at the results:

Roderick Strong and Family Enter the Arena

Roderick Strong and his family were seen entering the arena. He’ll face Bobby Roode in the main event of the show.

Hideo Itami and Kassius Ohno vs. Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe

Result: Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe defeated Hideo Itami and Kassius Ohno via pinfall.

Rating: 2.75 out of 5 stars

We’re still in the “you know he’s going to become a heel sooner than later” phase with Hideo Itami, which led to subdued crowd reactions. It will happen eventually, but with a slow-burn build.

Hey, it’s at least something for Kassius Ohno to do. He’s been somewhat directionless since his NXT Championship match in March, which feels like an eternity ago.

Interesting that Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe were in tag team action. Usually, SAnitY worked in singles matches or six-man bouts.

If this is the start of something, then Dain and Wolfe will be welcome additions to the NXT Tag Team Division. It got destroyed by The Revival’s call-up and DIY’s break-up. Throw in Heavy Machinery just not being ready, and it gives Dain and Wolfe plenty of space to thrive.

As for Itami, he had a strong performance. Things folded when he didn’t tag in Ohno, and got overwhelmed by SAnitY’s double-team. Dain eventually hit a running cross-body that smashed Itami and got the win.

Ember Moon Interview

An interesting wrinkle came at the Performance Center. Ember Moon was interviewed like an NBA player was after practice, which was different but refreshing. She spoke on wanting the NXT Women’s Championship, but got interrupted by Ruby Riot, who questioned the statement. How about a match between these two?

Last Woman Standing Recap

A recap was shown of Asuka vs. Nikki Cross in a Last Woman Standing match. This saw the Empress of Tomorrow retain the NXT Women’s Championship.
