The Miz (c) vs Dean Ambrose
You know, for a feud that’s been going on for 3 months it doesn’t seem like the Ambrose/Miz feud has any ideas of dying out before Summerslam. Week in and week out, these two superstars have managed to entertain the masses with great comedic work mixed with a violent edge. Quite honestly, it’s probably the best thing RAW currently has going and outside of that ridiculous appearance from Lavar Ball, it’s been quite a treat.
So will Great Balls of Fire be the blow-off between these two? I don’t think so. There’s no need to end a feud that still has potential. Plus, the only way for the program to end would be for Miz to retain the belt and there really aren’t that many options for babyfaces on RAW for him to feud with. Austin Aries? Well he just lost a feud for the Cruiserweight title. Not exactly the best way to go after a larger belt. Finn Balor or Seth Rollins? They seem dead-set on the Universal title picture. And that’s about all the options. Ambrose represents the only real credible threat to The Miz on the baby face side of things.
You can probably see where I’m going with this. Until the WWE can load up RAW with a couple different challengers that meet The Miz’s standard, Ambrose is the guy. Now outside of that, all evidence does point to a Miz victory. The feud is at 3 months, that’s about right for a secondary title feud. Plus, The Miz is quite possibly the hottest heel on the entire roster and his talents may be better served moving on to a feud that can help elevate someone else. And does it really make sense for these two to swap the title again? Not really. But I just have this feeling about Ambrose. And as Wayne Gretzky once said, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”. I think Ambrose takes back the strap and these two go at it one, final time at Summerslam for all the marbles.
Winner and new champion: Dean Ambrose
