For most of 2017, The Miz and Dean Ambrose have feuded. It’s resulted in two championship changes, with the last one at June’s Extreme Rules. Will Great Balls of Fire be the end to this program?

Match psychology was used here, too. It saw Miz target Ambrose’s bad left knee, which he hurt during the middle portion of this bout.

Ambrose came within inches of winning the belt, but Maryse pulled Miz’s leg onto the ropes. The Miztourage provided a big enough distraction, too, which ended the match clean for the A-lister.

If this is the end of Miz vs. Ambrose, that means we’ll get a new opponent for SummerSlam. Given the volatility of the midcard, it could be any name floating around that’s not doing something. Could Finn Balor be an option? Maybe Roman Reigns, if he loses to Braun Strowman?

As for Ambrose, if this doesn’t get him a rematch, then he’ll need something else to do. What that is, is unknown, but it may not be anything special. His value hasn’t been great since February’s Elimination Chamber PPV, so WWE could push him further down the card.
