At Great Balls of Fire, The Miz retained the WWE Intercontinental Championship, which kept his seventh title reign going. He knocked off Dean Ambrose to move this forward.

The Miz now has an opening for SummerSlam, with an opponent not clear-cut. That could be established over time, but as of Sunday night, what about Roman Reigns as the next challenger?

Reigns lost the Ambulance match to Braun Strowman at Great Balls of Fire, but discarded for the latter with smashing him while in an ambulance. If that keeps Strowman out of action, then the Big Dog could shoot his way to the top of the ladder for a title shot.

However, if that’s not the case, Reigns could move to the Intercontinental Championship, one belt that’s alluded him in his young, illustrious WWE career. It’s similar to the 2016 feud with Rusev, which also happened at SummerSlam.

Miz vs. Reigns has the opportunity to be a fun feud, with the former using his promos to take digs at the former Shield man. It’s similar to the John Cena program at WrestleMania 33.
