What happened at WWE Great Balls of Fire? A lot. This week’s Raw deals with the fallout from GBOF and sets the stage for SummerSlam.

Previously on WWE Raw, the final pieces took position for Great Balls of Fire. Just twenty-four hours ago, that show hit the airwaves. And it was really good, despite the dumb name.

At GBOF, Brock Lesnar successfully defended the Universal Championship against Samoa Joe. But just barely. Joe took The Beast to the limit, but fell short in the end. Lesnar was advertised to appear on Raw this week. What message did he send to Joe and the WWE Universe?

Despite there being four championship matches at GBOF (five if you count the kickoff show), none of the titles changed hands. Tag Team Champs Cesaro and Sheamus survived a bloody Iron Man Match against the Hardy Boyz. Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss got herself counted out, raising the ire of Sasha Banks. The Miz had some help from Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel to retain the Intercontinental Title against Dean Ambrose. And even Neville successfully defended the Cruiserweight Championship against Akira Tozawa.

But the big news came out of the Ambulance Match between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman. The Monster Among Men came out victorious, but ended up the worse for wear when all was said and done. Reigns didn’t take kindly to the loss, and basically committed attempted murder when he drove the Strowman-containing ambulance into an 18 wheeler. Strowman was cut out of the ambulance with the jaws of life, but somehow walked out under his own power. Kurt Angle looked on distraught, and has promised to provide us with an update on Braun’s condition during Raw.
