3. The Empress of Tomorrow’s Reign Begins
There is no more dominant athlete in the WWE, right now, than the NXT Women’s Champion Asuka. Asuka captured the NXT Women’s Championship by defeating former champion, Bayley, at NXT Takeover: Dallas on April 16, 2016. Since then, the Empress of tomorrow has ravaged all incoming challengers.
On May 24, 2017, Goldberg acknowledged Asuka as having broken his historic undefeated streak of 173-0. And Asuka’s dominant performance has only continued since then.

Asuka most recently defended her title against Nikki Cross on the June 28 edition of NXT. She defeated Cross in an Iron Woman Match when, she suplexed her off a ladder through an announcer’s table. The match was Cross’s best chance at usurping the Empress of Tomorrow.
Since then Asuka made it known that she demands better competition.

At SummerSlam, Asuka could make her mark by taking on all challengers from both the Raw and SmackDown Live rosters. This could start off a cross-brand feud that could potentially lead into Survivor Series.
