WWE United States Championship Match
A.J. Styles vs. Kevin Owens

After winning the United States Championship at a house show in New York City at Madison Square Garden, it will now be Styles defending the championship instead of Owens at Battleground.

If you’ll remember, Styles had to win the right to challenge Owens for the belt at Battleground, but instead the WWE tried to pull something unexpected in hopes to sell more house show tickets, so they totally threw away the storyline they were going with.

Hey, I’m not trying to be a scrooge—I was surprised to see that they but the belt on Styles at a house show, but it made the storyline a little choppy, though that twist did make it a bit more interesting.

Anyways, this will be the third to last match on the card when you consider the star power of both Styles and Owens right now in the WWE.

Also, putting a United States Championship match later on the card will help give it a bit more credibility—it’s kind of been an afterthought for a while now.
