WWE: Should Baron Corbin Cash Money in the Bank at SummerSlam?

Will Baron Corbin become WWE Champion at this year’s SummerSlam?

Just moments before Baron Corbin’s showdown with The King of Strong Style, Shinsuke Nakamura, WWE.com caught up with Corbin to get his thoughts on the Punjabi Prison match between current WWE Champion, Jinder Mahal and The Viper, Randy Orton.

During the interview, Corbin stated that after he was done defeating Nakamura, there may be a possibility that he’d cash in the briefcase later that night. As most people know by now, that never happened and instead, the WWE Universe was treated to the surprising return of The Great Khali, who helped the not so popular Modern-Day Maharaja successfully defend his title.

While it’s not clear if Corbin will cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase between now and SummerSlam, one can only imagine. After all, there are many ways the WWE could flip this. They could go with the usual idea of having a well liked Babyface defeat Mahal for the title only to have Corbin rush to the ring moments later and capitalize. They could go with the very unusual heel vs. heel situation where Corbin turns over a new leaf and decides to inform Mahal ahead of time when he will challenge him. Then again, they could go with the idea of building up Corbin only to have him lose his title opportunity in the most ridiculous fashion possible.

I hope it isn’t the last one. Corbin has come a long way from having the fans constantly chanting boring, getting booed for the wrong reasons and all that other jazz. As of mid-2017, he’s considered a pretty unlikable human being by most and since he’s supposed to be a heel, that’s a pretty nice accolade.

It also doesn’t hurt that the guy is billed at about 6’8 and weighs in at 275 pounds, considering the fact that the WWE is a pretty nice place for big men/wrestlers. With all that being said one thing is almost for sure: Corbin will probably become WWE Champion before the year is out, even if it’s for about 2 weeks… okay, maybe just one week. Regardless of how long the reign is, it’s pretty clear that the WWE is all for giving Corbin a massive push and there seems to be nothing that can stop that. But just to be on the safe side, this is the WWE and sometimes what fans, writers, and smarks think can sometimes not be what the outcome actually is.

With that being said, the only thing to do is wait and see.
