The New Day & The Usos Clash

By far, the most impressive match that took place at Battleground was the SmackDown Live Tag Team Championship contest. At the end of the impressive battle, New Day celebrated with the gold, marking their third reign as champions. It was a great moment for the trio, especially for Xavier Woods, who later confirmed that him earning the pin for his team marked the first time he’d ever won a title in the company. Despite being part of the teams two previous reigns, he hadn’t participated in the matches where they won the titles.

Even though WWE could milk this rivalry for a good while, tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live is going to have a lot of new rivalries presented. Also, the continuation of feuds including Baron Corbin versus Shinsuke Nakamura is bound to take precedent over the tag titles. Since there won’t be a lot of time to work with over the coming weeks, a stellar match could be confirmed for tonight’s show. The Usos may cash-in their rematch clause, and if they do the live crowd will go absolutely crazy. As for New Day, they’ll have no problem taking part in another memorable contest.

Regardless of who achieves the win, both teams could benefit from such a prominent spotlight. All five of the men involved have helped to produce a very entertaining feud, and their passion has drawn the support of the WWE Universe. They don’t want the feud to end, but they also don’t want to wait to see these superstars fight. Expect them to be energetic as can be for the contest, as I’m sure all of us watching at home will be too.
