WWE NXT Results: Highlights, Analysis, and Grades for July 26

We’re at Full Sail University for the July 26 episode of WWE NXT.
During last week’s episode of NXT, we saw Drew McIntyre become No. 1 contender for the NXT Championship. We also witnessed Andrade “Cien” Almas beat down Cezar Bononi and Ember Moon continues to rise in the NXT women’s division.
With NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III quickly approaching, we can expect to see rivalries solidify matches announced. NXT Takeover specials are always exciting, and with the current feuds progressing, I expect Brooklyn III to be just as exciting.
As far as match quality for this episode, it was virtually non-existent. This episode was much more a table-setter for NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III. Storylines were progressed much more by promos and post-match scrums than by in-ring action.
After what was one of my favorite episodes of NXT, last week, this episode was a bit disappointing. That’s not to say it was a worthless episode, on the contrary. NXT continues to be one of WWE’s best shows.
