Sting Reveals He ‘Can Still Wrestle’ – But Why Hasn’t He Returned to the Ring?
Sting recently went to Facebook Live and gave a status on his professional wrestling career.
New to this form of social media, Sting reached out for some help on certain elements of Facebook Live. While he was being instructed of what the “Like” and “Love” buttons are, as well as how many people are tuning in, a fan made a comment of wishing Sting can still wrestle.
Sting responded, “I can still wrestle. I can still wrestle! I’m just not going to.”
The former multi-time WCW Champion and WWE Hall of Famer did show an interest of working in some kind of WWE role, such as the General Manager spot that King Angle has.
For a number of years, Sting has made it known that he wants a match with The Undertaker. In an interview on Legends with JBL, Sting expressed his desire for the match to happen, even to the point of deciding to not have surgery. However, he did understand that this was a dream that would probably never become a reality.
If surgery was done to Sting’s neck, he knows that his career is done. Following the incident during his Night of Champions match against Seth Rollins, the Stinger, and many others, believed that surgery was mandatory. However, Sting would later reveal that his neck feels fine. Despite this, he still formally announced his retirement during his 2016 WWE Hall of Fame speech.
At 58 years old, and a career that lasted over 30 years, Sting has become one of the biggest professional wrestlers ever, not to be manufactured by the WWE.
