4. Throw Him Into a Tag Team (With Zack Ryder?)

It’s been a while since Ziggler has been in a tag team, but he’s formed partnerships with the likes of Big E and Jack Swagger. It could be time for him to find a new footing in the tag team division, and real-life friend Zack Ryder could be a good match. Ryder and Ziggler have similar wrestling styles, they both have a sharp sense of humor, they have loyal segments of the WWE universe, and they’ve long been seen as underpushed talents.

Currently, Ryder is in a tag team with Mojo Rawley, but neither man has featured much on television lately. Rawley eliminated Ryder in the Independence Day Battle Royal, and while the two haven’t split, it seems like “The Hype Bros” are destined to fall apart. The tag team just doesn’t feel the same ever since Ryder suffered an injury, and Rawley’s Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal victory means that the young star should be ticketed for big things.

SmackDown Live’s tag team scene is an absolute mess right now, with only The New Day and The Usos featuring in matches – and that’s the championship feud. Below them in the card, Breezango and The Ascension are the only tag teams that even exist. There are rumblings that Luke Harper and Erick Rowan may reunite, but that’s hardly inspiring.

Teaming up with Ryder could allow Ziggler to stay heel, but it’d be better for the two of them to be babyfaces. Both are popular, and the SmackDown Live tag team division could benefit from a babyface injection.

There are other candidates for Ziggler to form a tag team with, but Ryder would probably be the safest option.
