Fresh off the heels of another brilliant G1 Climax, what does NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 12 have in store for us?

Another NJPW G1 Climax down, and another grouping of matches that has absolutely lit the wrestling world on fire.  The brilliance in this tournament from the likes of Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada, Minoru Suzuki, Kota Ibushi, Tomohiro Ishii, and eventual winner, Tetsuya Naito, have set the bar on what the quality of current professional wrestling should be.  Over the course of the 4-week long tournament, New Japan Pro Wrestling managed to churn out about a half a dozen matches that topped anything that the WWE has done in months and if Vince McMahon doesn’t watch out, he’ll very soon have his biggest competition since WCW.

But as far as the future of NJPW goes, the company has its long term sights set on January 4, 2018, the site of Wrestle Kingdom 12.  However, there are some big shows from now until then.  With the three Destruction shows coming up (Fukushima, Hiroshima, and Kobe) in September, as well as King of Pro Wrestling in October, and Power Struggle in November, the landscape could change drastically.  But from this writer’s stand point, only one current champion(s) will not make it to the biggest show of the year with the belt.  Every other champ should stand strong until then.

Most Wrestle Kingdom’s feature about 9-12 matches.  Ahead are 8 match predictions for the majority of NJPW’s titles and why they could make this year’s show one of the very best of all-time.
